Lesotho offers everything imaginable about trekking.

• The seemingly endless scenery with its soft mountain range. Pleasant hiking heights from 2000 m to 3600 m above sea level.
• Torrential rivers winding through narrow valleys, small mountain streams and wells offer refreshing drinking water. The most beautiful little villages are nestled next to hills or in deep valleys.
• Lesotho is one of the poorest countries in Africa, yet the families in even the most remote area are self-sufficient and support themselves with a lot of diligence.  Fields of wheat are cultivated in winter and maize in summer. The population radiates warmth and friendliness. They are always concerned about the well being of the Guests. In summer month pumpkin, roots and freshly baked bread can be bought in the villages.
• Children love it if one participates in their ballgames, while the village chiefs like to talk to visitors.
• Even though jeans are available in Lesotho, ceremonies and festivals are still very traditional and the participation of visitors is encouraged. It is paradise for photographers.
• We camp at selected grounds, where fresh water and grass is abundant for our horses, which we use to carry our loads. It is therefore also only necessary for us to carry a backpack with a jacket, camera, sunscreen and water bottle.
• Long trekking hours add to the experience. 7 hours of hiking are the norm but in order to overcome some longer sections we will be on our feet for up to 10 hours.  Nevertheless we will be rewarded by breathtaking scenery and complete silence.
• We will be accompanied by Basoetho`s and their horses. They have mastered the requirements of this trekking tour to perfection and are at all times aware of our safety and well being. Their presence is also very advantegous in  that we will be able to have direct contact to the locals.
